Kimberly Xavier is a Senior Associate within CoveyLaw’s general immigration division. Her focus is on creating short and long-term immigration strategies for individuals and organizations with foreign national employees. She handles employment-based cases across industries and advises employers on the I-9 process and immigration compliance. She also prepares family-based and citizenship cases, and represents clients at DHS interviews, site visits, and audits. Within the arts, her work is primarily with creatives in tv/film and non-performing arts roles.

Kimberly is admitted to the New York State Bar and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School where she completed clinical training including the Children’s Justice Clinic, Street Law Program, and Small Business Counseling. She also holds a B.S. from Manhattan College and is fluent in Spanish.

During law school, she served as a full-time law clerk for an immigration firm in Pennsylvania where she gained valuable legal experience that laid the foundation for her development in the field. She went on to serve as an immigration associate at an employment firm in White Plains, NY, and, later, a boutique immigration firm in Midtown Manhattan, before joining CoveyLaw.

She has provided pro bono services at various citizenship and DACA clinics, as well as presented on immigration compliance topics.
